Andy Parfitt – Chief Executive Officer
Bio: Andy joined as CEO in March 2020 to set-up AMP Power Protection after the take-over of Harland Simon UPS. Andy has over 30 years successful experience in Power Protection ensuring he gives his customers the best technical and commercial solution to solve and support their critical systems and application against power problems.
Andy is a keen golfer and a sports watcher and loves to travel to experience what wonders the world has to offer.
Haydn Langley – Project Manager
Bio: Over 30 years experience in electromechanical design and project management within control, power, automation industry . Prince2 practitioner.
Tim Rimmer – Compliance Manager
Bio: Tim has been part of the AMP Power Protection team since its inception in 2020. He is an IET member and a qualified Mechanical Engineer with over 28 years’ electronics industry experience. Tim’s skill set ideally suits the AMP Power Protection working philosophy, covering a broad range including standardisation, certification, testing, quality management, documentation, supplier control, and materials.
Away from work, Tim enjoys exploring new places, as well as cycling, walking, live music, eating out, and a good pub quiz.
John Slaughter – Design Manager
Bio: Over 30 years experience within UPS industry. Design, manufacture, service & support. Previous positions with Sola, Carter Sullivan & Harland Simon.
Lisa Farthing – Office Manager
Bio: Lisa has worked in the UPS industry since 2012, Lisa is qualified CIPD Level 3 in Human Recourses , IOSH Managing Safely and is and Associate Member of the IEMA.
Lisa enjoys traveling, eating out, live music, and spending time with family and friends.
Nick Walker – Sales Manager
Bio: Nick has been with AMP Power Protection since July 2022, formerly at Harland Simon and has been in the UPS industry for over 15 years, working across project management and sales. As Sales Manager he provides commercial and technical bids to our customers, maintaining existing accounts and working on new opportunities. He also works with the projects team to deliver won solutions.
In his free time he enjoys heavy metal music, gaming, and a surprising amount of baking.
John Russell – Design Engineer
Bio: John joined AMP Power Protection in May 2022 as Design Engineer.
Having worked in Design across several different sectors John has a broad knowledge base and uses this experience to provide practical solutions that meets the clients specification.
John’s focus is primarily in the mechanical designs for our solutions and he is heavily involved in R&D.
Outside of work John is very active and competes in Kettlebell lifting, he has represented England in several World Championships, winning a bronze medal in the World Championship in May 2024 held in Denmark.
Jonathan Fletcher – Procurement Executive
Bio: Jonathan joined AMP Power Protection in June 2024 as a Procurement Executive. He is responsible for evaluating suppliers, their products and services and making sure the products/services provided are cost-effective and meet our standards. He has several years of experience in the procurement sector, previously working for companies in the IT hardware sector. In 2023, he completed his CIPS Level 3 Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations.
Outside of work, he likes to spend time with family, play football locally and go to the gym. In 2016, he completed a half marathon.
Tom White – Workshop Technician
Bio: Tom joined the team in early 2023 as a workshop technician.
He has a long history of working in various workshop jobs for over 15 years, and he has been building/assembling various products since he could put two blocks of Lego together. His responsibilities cover a wide range of workshop duties from building, booking in/out, and general maintenance of the workshop.
When he’s out of the office he likes to go to the gym and walk places.
Paula Johnson – Supplier Controller
Bio: Paula joined the team in March 2024. She has worked across the supply chain industry for many years. Spending 16 years as a supply chain manager, travelling across Europe with suppliers and customers. She once travelled to Japan to attend a course in supply chain management, handles all things supplier control for our team.
Outside of work she likes to spend as much time as possible outdoors, walking around the quad or helping out around the farm.
Sean Brady – Project Manager
Bio: Sean became a part of the team in May 2024.
He Bachelor’s in Electrical & Electronic engineering from Cardiff University has over 16 years experience delivering bespoke electrical solutions. Responsible for project management and making sure all customer projects are delivered on time, on spec, and on budget.
Martin Peacock – Managing Director (AMP Procurement)
Bio: Martin Co Founded AMP Procurement Ltd in September 2016 – Procuring complex electrical solutions, as well as COTS minor electrical equipment for various government agencies including the ministry of defence , social housing projects and the NHS.
Martin is a keen golfer and enjoys holidays with his family. He is also involved in running a local football team.
Gary Henderson – Financial Controller
Bio: Gary joined AMP in September 2016 as Financial Controller and is responsible for the Group finances. Gary trained as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in London and has extensive experience of high growth small and medium sized enterprises. Gary reports to the Board on AMP Procurement and its sister company AMP Power Protection.
Gary is married with four sons and can often be found on his local golf course in St Andrews or working in his garden.
Martin Shiels – Strategic Procurement Officer (AMP Procurement)
Bio: Martin joined the AMP team in January 2019 as a buyer, he quickly progressed in the business and is now our Strategic Procurement Officer. Martin is heavily involved in evaluating suppliers, products, and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of the highest quality.
Martin is a keen footballer playing part time for Shotts Bon Accord. He is very proud of making his pro debut for Stenhousmuir in 2021 and setting the winning goal.
