AMP Power Protection to work with Westbury Control Systems after contract awarded by L3Harris
AMP Power Protection are delighted to be working with Westbury Control Systems again on another critical UPS project for Royal Navy ships.
AMP’s custom UPS solution will support clean uninterruptible regulated power to the Integrated Platform Management Systems (IPMS) on the new vessels.
The partnership will see AMP providing full design, Project Management, inspection, testing and delivery of the Naval UPS solution – whilst Westbury will handle the manufacturing and assembly of the systems.
Westbury manufacture control panels and engineer control systems for leading OEM machine builders across many industrial applications. Trusted for over 20 years, Westbury has earned an excellent reputation for being a highly capable, reliable and dependable UK manufacturing and engineering company.
Having already worked with AMP on a project that will deliver 128 Naval UPS systems to BAE Systems for Royal Navy ships, Managing Director, Glynn Westbury commented: “It’s great to be working again with AMP, as a relatively new customer for Westbury, and as before on defence related applications. L3Harris has a longstanding relationship with the Royal Navy, supplying and supporting land-based trainers and platform management systems for major platforms such as the Royal Navy’s Landing Platform Docks (HMS Albion & Bulwark), the Astute Class submarines (HMS Astute, Ambush & Artful), and the new aircraft carriers (HMS Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales). L3Harris is also joint prime contractor for the 30-year Astute Class Training Service private finance initiative through its special-purpose vehicle, FAST Training Services Ltd., providing a complete scope of crew training for the nuclear-powered Astute Class submarines.
